Two words summarize Cash Money Content bestselling author Treasure Blue's 2 day tour stop in Mississippi promoting his new book FLY BETTY: AMAZING.
Hosted by Conversations Book Club President and Mississippi native Cyrus Webb the author visited with fans in Jackson, Indianola, Ridgeland, Pearl and Brandon, each stop proving more thrilling than the last.
It made such an impact on Blue that he exclaimed at the end of day 2 that this was "the most memorable moment of his literary career."
It all began on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Bolden-Moore Library in Jackson, MS where Blue was invited by librarian Ms. McCoy to meet with the young book club that met at the library.
Surrounded by about 80 kids Treasure Blue experienced a first: reading books to a younger audience.
Afterwards it was on to Gentry High School in Indianola, MS where Cyrus Webb has a chapter of his new book club "Mississippi Reads".
Treasure Blue met with the book club members, sharing his personal story as well as inspiring them to think now about the future.
"What are you doing now to live the life you want," he asked. After some engaging back-and-forth, Webb and Blue shared gifts from Cash Money Content with the book club and then headed to the gym where Blue was greeted by 450 high school students ready to hear from him.
During the discussion with the student body Blue shared some of the challenges of his own life and encouraged them to appreciate the gift of education and to be the best of themselves.
From there it was on to Ridgeland, MS where Blue met fans and sold out the inventory at Barnes and Noble within two hours.
The day ended at a meet and greet at Appetizers in Pearl, MS.
Day 2 of the tour began Saturday morning at Subway Restaurant inside of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Pearl/Brandon.
There Blue was met by fellow authors and fans who had books for him to sign---and in the process he was able to sell out the inventory that Wal-Mart had on the shelves as well.
The final event of the tour took place at Books-A-Million in Jackson, MS where fans not just from Mississippi but Louisiana showed up to support the author.
Copies of all of Blue's books were available, however, by the end of the day certain titles sold out. This event was the most diverse of the tour, bringing out readers of all walks of life.
Blue was also interviewed by the Jackson Advocate Newspaper during this top.
